Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Have a question? We’re here to help.

  • In what locations will Landmark Homes build on my land?

We are able to build in Adams, Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York Counties. Our home base is in Ephrata, PA (Lancaster County).

  • How do I get started?

Before designing your home, you will first need to determine the site work necessary to prepare your land for building, such as stormwater design, lot clearing, septic system installation, well installation, etc. Having an engineering expert assess these requirements will help you understand the costs and extent of work required so that you are best prepared to plan for your new home. Once you have a site plan and/or grading plan, our private lot sales manager can begin to guide you through the home design process.

  • How do I determine the site work requirements to prepare my land for building?

An engineering firm will be able to assist in obtaining the required plans and permitting needed prior to building. If you already have a site plan and/or grading plan, please let our private lot sales manager know so that we can provide you with estimated site work allowances.

  • How long does it take to build a home?

Our process takes approximately 6-8 months, with the active construction phase of a home being about 180 days. Since it is necessary to allow time for site work and permits, however, the complete process may be a total of 10-12 months from start to move-in.

  • If we like a floor plan but want to change it, is that possible?

At Landmark Homes, our team has thought about the variety of options buyers might wish to consider for their new home. We take new home personalization to the next level by allowing buyers to modify their home plans based on their specific needs. Simply tell us your dream and we’ll design it, price it, and build it for you.

  • What type of financing is required for building on my lot? How do I get started?
