After 32 years in the same home near Hershey, Pennsylvania, Curt, and Elayna Richards knew it was time for a change -- but not a drastic one.

With retirement on the horizon, the couple began looking for a way to simplify their lifestyle without leaving behind the familiarity and friendships they’d spent decades building. Their search led them just three miles down the road to Winding Creek, Landmark’s 55+ community tucked into the heart of Central PA.

“We only used about 40% of our old house,” Elayna shared. “Downsizing just made sense. The beauty of Winding Creek is that it gave us everything we were looking for, without having to give up the places and people we love.”

“The people working with us during the build were incredibly responsive. They even picked up our mail and checked on the house while we were on vacation in Europe. That kind of care means a lot.”

“We’re enjoying more of what we want to do,” Elayna added, “not what we have to do.”
